sightron s-tac 4-20x50 tracking

G'day all after information on a sightron s-tac 4-20x50 my main query is how does it track for what I want this scope it's the only thing that matters .
Scope is going on a 22 long rifle for shooting out past 400 yards.

Cheers

I don't have the 4-20 version, but I do have three of the S-Tacs in 3-16x42.

Tracking and RTZ has been superb on all three.

I also have a SIII 6-24x50 on my 40-X 22, with a 40 MOA base, and regularly shoot to 400 plus with it too.

One thing to consider, the 4-20 S-Tacs only have 80 total MOA.

With a 50 yard zero using 36gr Federal ammo, it takes 63.3 MOA to get to 400 yards, 90.7 for 500 yards.

You can see on my ammo box, with the 40 MOA base, I still have 82 MOA of elevation in the scope.

Quite a bit more coin to get the 100 MOA in the SIII's though......

Alf I would have liked a 4-16 but I would like a 50mm objective.
I see your eyesight has gone the same direction as mine with the way the ocular lens is set getting old is a bugger for me .
By the way I like that rifle 40XB if I'm not mistaken

Yes I completely understand that that is why I also want a second focal plane I will have 20 Moa on the rail 35 maybe 40 in scope adjustment there's another 20 in the rec to help me out on the longer range and I can also back the power off to give it even more range the beauty of second focal plane and extreme long-range with a 22

I have 3 of the 5-20's with the MOA-2 reticle and truly believe they are one of the best buys in a scope. Camera Land recently had them on sale for $300 and I think that is quite a deal for a very versatile scope. It was actually Al Nyhus's endorsement of these that made me look into them further and so far have not been disappointed.

The main problem I have here is I am a rather modest fixed income and would you believe this very scope goes for $900 and that's a good price unfortunately I live in Australia.

Ouch. Have you looked into using one of the licensed exporters in the U.S. to ship it to you?

Yes I have by the time you convert to the US dollar pay $60 shipping fee and pay the import tax you save $100 and I don't even know if the exporter wants a cut as well saving a $100 is just not worth throwing a warranty away.

Well I bought the scope this afternoon just have to wait for the post , and then found a pic on the net the idiots have a elevation turret on the windage you know the numbers go in one direction 1 to 15 why don't they just put a proper one on it .
It is ones of the things in life that bugs the hell out of me .

Rant over ......
