Sightron Milldot

Then correct me if I am not right, the 8-32x Sightron dot reticle is a 1/8MOA ( .25 ) at 32x. Then the milldots on the said scope is 1/4 MOA ( .56 ) at 32x.
Sounds pretty big..?

Thanks, I am not sure how I got to 1/8moa after seeing the .25 now. Will call them to find out more.
Not sure why companies manufacture a reticle with those huge dots on a mill reticle. Long distance shooting just becomes impossible unless you shooting at a tank!

1/4moa is huge if you are shooting benchrest at 100 and 200yds. It is only 1.5" @600yd and 2.5"@1000yd.; how many tactical shooters are that good? I find it ideal for F-class and too small for any/any NRA guns.

That's the problem with the dots in a mil-dot reticle. They're designed to help with interpolating between dots (for rangefinding and downrange zeroing). The problem with Sightron is they made the MD dots .22 mil in diameter, which is off the mil std. these days of .2 mil, though very few will ever realize the "error" that .02 mil introduces. The dots in a mil-dot reticle were never designed for game animals and varmints.

If the dots are truly .25 MOA at 32x then the mil should be cald. for ~12x, and the mil between dots should be 1.2 inch per hundred yds. @ 32x--not much for downrange zeroing, but great for rangefinding purposes, and not bad for windage reference.
