Sightron lll 10-50x60 VS Vortex Golden Eagle 15-60x56

Need a Review COMPARISON on Sightron lll 10-50x60 vs Vortex Golden Eagle 15-60x56. I have been a big Sightron user on the above scope
( own a few MOA-2 and LR. Dot reticles ) for long range target shooting , Prairie Dog hunting , shooting , gongs all off bench etc.
I do not shoot F class because of knee replacements and do not shoot any kind of matches yet but will when I retire. Just recreation shooting for know. I have been very happy with my sightrons. Had a issue with one sightron scope and had great customer service with the Sightron Folks ( fixed it at no charge ).
I would like to get a comparison on the scopes from you guys that have used both the Vortex Golden Eagle and
the Sightron lll. Is their a big enough difference in NEW and USED , quality of glass , warranty , customer service to consider the big vortex over the sightron ? I know there is some reticles that are different but this question is for a over all comparison between the scopes.
Is the Vortex really a upgrade over the sightron ?
I have never looked through the Vortex Eagle and know every ones eyes our different. Your thoughts.
Thanks Marty

I have both a Sightron 10-50x 60 SVED series and GE's and both shoot very well but the Sightron is better than the GE's. The glass and the movement are better than about anything I looked through, but the weight is the down side to the Sightron SV series.... jim

I have had NF 12x42 and the 10x60 the NF 12x42 is much better glass IMHO... don't know about the GE I myself would rather have aNF 12x42 br but the side focus on the 10x60 is nice but I love the glass on the NF

Now you guys wanting me to test the Sightron. 10 x 60...I'm a NF Br 12x42 owner user...I started w 2 8 x 32's ...Love NF...BR series...long time user...mike in ct

The Sightron SIII cannot be beat for the money, bar none. Vortex GE is a little better I think for a few hundred more. But the SVED beats them all in terms of optical resolution of the target; cost significantly more and is very heavy. If weight is a challenge better check the GE.

I have bought 4 used in this sight worth the money. I know every one like the LRdot reticle and MOA-2 ( I gave them both ) but I Sightron change on if mine to the wide duplex. I like that one of all of them. It really brings my right on target fast ! I was just wondering if I was missing something on the big GE Vortex? Marty

the SV series weighs 6 oz. more than a NF br 12-42x56....... and 12 oz more than the GE....... but this should not be a huge issue when building a long range gun...... jim

How much does it cost to get sightron to change your reticle? Went with the fine cross hairs but wishing it was a dot.
Best to call and ask. I asked about changing a scope to 1/8 clicks and can't remember how much exactly but it was very reasonable. I've met the folks that do the work, and they strike me as knowing what they are doing.

I got rid of my gold lettering Nightforce benchrest when I switched to the VGE. Too me I believe it was an upgrade. I will be in the market in the future for another comp scope, it will be a Sightron. I've never owned one and I have seen plenty of shooters happy with them, that's good enough for me.
