I have a cheap Thompson Center Venture, with a Weaver Grand Slam 20X variable, I had the trigger reworked by McCarbo in Florida it's set to break superbly at 1 pound, and it does,I don't recommend a trigger this light unless you train frequently and don't get buck fever when a varmint comes in.My rifle is drop tested at 3 feet. This is what I was able to achieve a six shot group with Hornady Superformance 32 grain V-max at 200 yards benched solidly. This round leaves the barrel at 4225, fps and at 400 yards is doing 2275 fps with a ft lb at 368. I don't plan on shooting further than that, however a shot was made with this round at 412 yards on a called in coyote and after a spin and run he flopped over within 50 yards.Winter calling in cut corn and bean fields oftentimes presents longer shots , this rig can do it.I don't have but less than $400 in the rifle, and I don't believe a rifle twice the price,or more , Hunting rifle can best it by much, six shot is what you see and what I got.
