Well, I can just remove the leveling feet, and replace them with long screws going through holes drilled clean through my benchtop. That ought to stop it moving around too much.
 Then I just switch both elevation and azimuth adjustments to the rear bag. I've been thinking of making a spacer platform for underneath the rear bag, with three pointed leveling screws, one of which will serve as the fine tune for elevation. And I can simply use the screws just now appropriated from the front rest.
