With the SIG and vortex you have a solver in the rangefinder as well as the app so there is essentially more redundancy.

I have, at last count, 15 ballistic solvers at the ready. Should my phone take a crap, I have data (DOPE) books for each of my rifles; this old school approach is a carry over from my days in the Marine Corps where we did not have the luxury of electronics.

You are correct in that electronics sometimes fail, usually at an inopportune time, thus having a backup plan or redundant system can save the day
