Sig Kilo2400?

The Leica has the required info (station pressure and temp) for the AB smartphone program. You can use them together and not need a Kestrel or the new Kilo, just a little more inputs on the program.

I had a G7 Gen II and a Sig 2000. After using them both I found myself always grabbing the Sig. It is fast, accurate and much smaller. I ended up selling the G7 and buying a Kestrel 5700 with Bluetooth, just makes more sense to me.

If the 2400 ends up making me want one I can wait for a good deal.

Does the 2400 display your firing solution in MOA? I would rather not be messing with an app on my phone while trying to hunt. Thanks for all the great info.

Happy shooting.

My son Andy did some testing of the KILO 2400 yesterday along with a G7 BR2 and Swarovski EL Range binoculars. You can read about his initial impressions - HERE.

I'll be testing it over the next few days and we'll publish a detailed review next week.

So here is where we are at:

1) If you want to learn more about it check out this: http://appliedballisticsllc.com/products/devices/sig-sauer-kilo-2400-abs/

2) If you want to learn more about the app check this out: http://appliedballisticsllc.com/products/apps/sig-kilo-2400abs-lrf-app/

3) If you want to pre-order (expected to deliver around, or just after SHOT Show): https://store.appliedballisticsllc.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=6001 Street Price is 1500$

25% improvement over the Sig Kilo 2000. Plus Scan Mode which updates 4 times per second. It was the best LRF under 2000$ in our testing, and beat out some LRFs that cost more than 3000$.

This is interesting:
I've had a terrapin, g7gen2 and sig2000.

If this 2400 is all it's cracked up to be this may be the cat's meow.

1) If you want a performance comparisons read Modern Advancements Vol 2

2) The new 2200MR does not have Bluetooth. 5% improvement over the 2000.

3) The 2400 is a 25% improvement over the SK2000, and 20% over the SK2200MR

4) If you need specifics I have updated this page: http://appliedballisticsllc.com/prod...kilo-2400-abs/

5) If you want info on the app: http://appliedballisticsllc.com/prod...00abs-lrf-app/

6) No, you don't need the app for anything other than loading profiles

7) It does work in Mils and MOA

8) Yes, you can see all the sensor readings if you wish.

9) Ship Date is sometime around or after SHOT Show

10) If you want to pre-order you can. https://store.appliedballisticsllc.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=6001

11) Street Price is 1500$

12) The details of what you get in this kit you can see on the product page, you get a lot for the price. Its complete so you shouldn't need to source the other parts.

13) If you need to see how it compares in performance, it beat out range finders costing more than 2000$, you can see this in Modern Advancements Vol 2 page 192.

14) This is a HARDWARE upgrade form the Sig 2000, and Sig 2200MR. The 2400 is not the same on the inside, and does have some performance upgrades, including the glass used.

15) Yes it will automatically adjust for inclination (If you set to AMR Angle Modified Ranging). Or you can pick LOS (Line of Sight).

16) If you set it to (NO PRO) or no profile, you can have it report in Density Altitude where it would normally report our Elevation/Windage.

17) You can manually set wind speed, and direction. Or set wind to 0 in the device. However its easier to do in the app. The choice is yours, further emphasizing the app is not needed once profiles are loaded.

18) Beam divergence is wicked small, giving you some fantastic ranging abilities.

19) Reticle is an adjustable milling reticle. You can turn off and adjust the milling portion if you want. It also has a smaller targeting reticle than the other Sig Kilos to assist with long range ranging.

20) Elevation. No it does not read or report elevation. It reads and reports station pressure and density altitude. Elevation is only needed for barometric pressure readings, which this device does not do, and is really not ideal for shooting solutions.

21) MV Change with Temp Change, Spin Drift, Horizontal Coriolis, Vertical Coriolis, Aerodynamic Jump. You can also run G1, G7, and Custom Drag Models.

22) Unlike other range finders, there is no ballistic range limitation. If you can range it, you can get a firing solution.

23) You can do a ballistic calibration on it if you wish. It is further refined so that you can do a Muzzle Velocity Calibration or a Drop Scale Factor (Adjusts the Mach vs CD information)

24) You can set the device to display Density Altitude, instead of a weapon profile. Allowing you to use it with your own apps, cards, data books etc.

Also consider everything you get with the device. You get full access for life to the CDM Library of our Lab Tested Data. You get the app. You get a full kit (Including a Tripod Mount, TYR Molle Case, Nylon Carry Case, 3 Batteries, Weather Meter, Pen/Stylus, Full array of onboard sensors, Bluetooth connectivity, Lifetime Warranty etc...) All in a form factor that is much smaller than, and performed very similar to a Terrapin. But also has scan mode which updates 4 times per second, and can range a target in 1/4 of a second.

For reference the Sig Kilo 2400 ABS outperformed the following LRFs in testing, on the hardest to hit target (2.5' x 2.5' 20% Reflectivity):
Nearly Identical to the Vectronix Terrapin
10% Better than: Steiner Binos & Leica Geovid
20% Better than: Leica 1600
30% Better than: Sig Kilo 2000
50% Better than: Gunwerks G7 BR2
70% Better than: Bushnell Elite 1 Mile, Vortex Ranger 1500, SilencerCo Radius.|

Wish I had facebook. Kind of disheartening to see the 2400 outperform the bushnell 1 mile by 70%. I've been thinking about getting the 1 mile conx but that post gives me second thoughts.

Mine sig works awesome for me. Much faster and handier then the g7. Only shot a few guns out to 1000 once with it and was spot on
