A buddy talked me out of my 6 Creedmoor and I thought I’d just build a lighter version. Rebarreling a Sig Cross would be an option for a lighter version, think 18-20” #3 profile, maybe #4 if I thought the 3 wouldn’t look right. I’ve learned they have a barrel nut and sleeve but I can’t find it anything about removal. Can you just clamp the barrel & twist the barrel nut off (looks like AR10 barrel nut)?
Second group questions on the sleeve, can you get the sleeve off the factory barrel to reuse and just run a shouldered barrel onto the sleeve? Can you buy the sleeves? I don’t have a mill for the pin or the time to make a sleeve maybe another day. Anyone know the tenon specs? I can measure but it’s not metric, extractor relief or anything funky with it, right?
Just trying to assess what I might be getting myself into before buying one and learning a lesson that I really don’t want to mess with it and just build another 6 when time/parts come.
