As much as I like the p211 GTO, I thought I'd take a look at all the things less than ideal:
At nearly 40 oz it's a little heavy. Comparatively, the Bul Armory SASII is abt 24 oz. Of course weight cuts both ways.... a little lighter gun recoils a bit more and has a bit more muzzle rise.
The side to side slop in the trigger is a little puzzling at this price. Bul has the tiniest side to side.
And the wiggle in the weak side slide catch release probably shouldn't exist at this price.
Trigger weight is about 4 oz which seems a little heavy for a 1911. SAS II is about 3lb. I'll need to look into adjusting trigger pull weight. Trigger take up is short and fairly consistent and break is as clean as you could possibly expect for $2,400 gun.
Trigger reset on mine is shorter / better than what I'm seeing of other people's GTOs on YouTube.
GTO slide is a little looser, more ragged than SAS II. The Bul slide is butter... probably better than it should be at this price.
The GTO comp works well, and I havent had any troubles with it. I'm definitely faster and more accurate in Bill drill type shooting with it. About 700 rds down the pipe. Comp set screw is good and tight and hasn't moved or rotated at all.
Holo 507 Comp co- witnesses nice with the irons, if you like that sorta thing. I dont bother.
Grip on the GTO is noticeably bigger than the Bul. If that's good or bad, depends upon the shooter's hands. My large fat hands with short stubby fingers likes the Bul. The largeness of my hand meshes better with the Magwell on the GTO.
100% reliable..
Everything else on the GTO is fine with me but those are the things that stand out at this point.
