Sierra California 6mm 85 Spitzer

I have 2 boxes of 85 Grain California Seirra Spitzers that are probably from the early 70's that I want to load for a Browning BLR in 243 win. Anyone have any experience with these bullets? I am under the assumption that the jacket thickness has change on some sierra bullets over the years. My experience with the 85 HPBT has been dismal, where others have cheered their results. I understand that with these particular bullets the jacket thickness had changed to a harder, thicker jacket that does not expand as well as the older formula.
Loading for coyotes. Thx in advance.
