Sierra BK’s

I've given up on Sierra's supply chain failures - moving on to Hornady but reluctantly.

Sierra seems to have abandoned their reloading customers. A real shame because they make great bullets, at least they use to. Such is life, the only thing constant these days is change. Adapt and overcome.

Dear Santa (Tommy T.): I have been a very good boy so far this year and am waiting very patiently for some 0.224" 95 gr Matchkings. I hope you will put some in my stocking this year!

PS - I left you some cookies and milk on the table by the Christmas tree. ;)

If I was shooting for score, maybe. I have gotten several 32-34 grain 20’s to fly good enough for small varmint work. It’s just a royal PITA to have to work up loads for another bullet, or it can be. I have narrowed my powder selection down a bit, either it works or it doesn’t, not to hung up on one.

Years past I was pretty loyal to several brands. If they can’t supply my needs, I will come up with a different source else where.

You're not alone.

There's very little difference between the 32gr BK's and 32gr Vmax. The 32 BK is slightly longer by about .025 then the 32 Vmax but they both always seem to shoot very well and I think they perform nearly identical to one another. I've shot a lot of 32gr Vmax in a factory 12tw CZ 527 204 and they shot extremely well in that rifle. I have a Tikka compact 204 with factory 20in 12tw barrel and it seems to really like the 32gr Vmax as well. I've mostly only shot the 32 Vmax in the Tikka because I have lots of them but I'm sure the 32 BK's would shoot just as well.

Sierra uses a 36gr Blitzking in their 204 Ruger loaded ammo but they don't sell 36gr Blitzking's as a component bullet. Since they can't seem to keep up with demand of their other bullets it's probably asking to much for them to make/sell those 36gr BK's but in a 12tw those 36gr BK's should make for about the perfect match.
