sierra 77 TMK

Thank you Berger.Fan222, I guessed 202.

I've read OAL of the 77TMK at 1.06" and 1.066". I measured two boxes and got a range of 1.065" to 1.070". One box average 1.067" and the other 1.068".

1) Is the variation typical for ballistics tips?

2) Am I just getting anal worrying about OAL measuring to the thousandths?

I attempt to find consistency with reloads by measuring to the ogive and not the COAL.

The OAL variation values you listed, if anything, are far lower than normally would be expected for a Lot of bullets. I typically see around .015" OAL variance in a given Lot of Berger bullets, perhaps a tick more. The values you listed for the Sierra TMKs may be due in part to having the tip and the manufacturing process that goes into that, or just really good QC. You can length sort if you really feel it's necessary, but regardless, seat and measure bullets base to ogive (CBTO not COAL), and don't worry about bullet OAL differences of one or two thousandths.
