Sierra 125gr. 30 cal.

Has anyone tried the new 125gr. pointed 30 cal. match bullet in the 30BR yet?

... and the bullets are pointed like the Palma 155's seems it would be a great bullet for 200 yds and out. I'll get some when I can and run them through the ringer..

I tried some in my 30br 18 twist and they wouldn't stabilize, but a friend tried them in a 17 twist and they shot well

into the lands between 10 and 20 thousandths, 4198 or Benchmark should do.

Why would you go with a powder that slow? Many have shot the Speer TNT 125 using about the same load as a 117 bullet.

My 17" twist Shilen likes them with 33.7 gns of 4198 and .010 off the lands. Hope this helps. Do not try after temps drop below 50 degrees they will keyhole at any distance under 200.

What is accuracy like at 300, 400, 500?

The accuracy was excellent at 300 but i could not give you any advice past that. I shoot my dasher when going any farther than 300. They shoot good enough to do well out farther. I just like less wind drift with the dasher.
