side focus 12 power redfield

my friend bought a rem 700 bdl varmint 222 with a redfield 12 power scope.This scope is a side focus it has a button with a slot cut in it that you push in a than you can turn it from 50 to 600 yards.It has a duplex reticle .I was wondering if any of you guy have had one of these scopes and can give me some info on it.Look maybe REDFIELD was ahead of it time on this scope thanks

What sort of info are you after? I have one of these on a Sako 222 Varminter and have had no problems, its suprisingly clear enough too for the price.Good scope.

20tac: I also have a Redfield 12x with a side focus adjustment. Came along with the purchase of a Sako Vixen 222 Rem. Mag. Previous owner sent it to the Miami repair facility for a checkup. The repair report that I got with the rifle/scope describes it as a "Redfield Targ 12xR3". Serial# is L14022. Fine crosshairs, high gloss blue, mfg. in Denver. Optics are outstanding.

This was a rare thread to find! I will receive my Redfield 12x side focus in a few days, I plan to use it on a paper puncher and Ballistic cube swatter. I would be interested in any info on where to send a scope for a cleaning, in case I feel a need to send one out. Would these Redfields be the Traditional series made in the early eighties?
