Show Your Benchrest Or Precision Rifles

Show your rifle, what groups it gets and what it is designed for.

Here's mine, 308 special match, built by Clay Spencer for long range tactical shooting. I'm averaging about 1.3" 5 shot groups @ 300 yards prone shooting of sand bag. I dont trim necks but might start to

Not as fancy as yours SF - here's my very own real world SWAT rifle - built by Jim Cloward and later re-stocked by Rick Freudenberg, both of Washington State. It's a simple short action Rem 700 with a 1:12 twist Krieger, chambered for .308 Win of course. Badger base and rings, Rem trigger, bedded in a McMillan M40A1 stock. I've been using this rifle for at least 12 years now, for duty use, tactical comps, NRA prone matches and even hunting. It's been a fine all-around rifle for me, fully capable of shooting "high master" scores in prone competition with factory match ammo.

Not a particularly good photo of the rifle, it's a Model 70 Palma rifle built by Jim Cloward for a really good shooter some years ago. I lucked into a good deal on it when that shooter moved up to more expensive stuff. This .308 has a 30" 1:13 twist "tight bore" Krieger, a Medesha two-stage trigger, and is set up for across-the-course, as well as Palma and prone competition. Typically I shoot 155 grain Noslers at about 2980 fps. It's taught me a LOT about shooting.

Mine are pretty plain-jane rifles compared to some of the fancy stuff I think we're likely to see in this thread...

Regards, Guy

Heres my homebuilt for benchrest, but only use it for a varmint rifle doing what it does best.

I use it for crows/coyotes,hence the camo tape) and at the range. Clay smithed it and Franklin stocked it. It will shoot under 1/4" with 65&75 vmax. Waiting on some 80gr fowlers to see what it can really do.

Heres two of my rifles, a 6XC in a camo McM A2 and a 6mmBR in an orange Tooley MBR. Both rifles were built by me with the 6XC being the newest. I've shot against James Mock, his rifles will shoot.
