I'll jump in....new here, but will share one of my sub-caliber rodent removal tools....this particular one is my Cooper M21 MTV in 204 Ruger with a Leupold VX-3 6.5-20X LR M1 with the Varmint Hunter Reticle in Lupy Low Rings. As usual for Cooper, it shoots in the .25" range with both 32gr and the 39SBK or Nosler 40gr BT using RL-10X.

This makes my 5th .20 caliber rifle.....my 224's are starting to feel like safe queens, as the 20's seem to do it all with a lot less fuss, especially the 20 VarTarg (Less powder = more fun ;) ).

Pretty nice HB. How does the 75 A-Max work out of that rig on coyotes at long range?

Not sure on coyotes but it destroys groundhogs. I've sent hogs atleast a foot in the air on impact.

Nothing fancy, but it does the trick. Savage action, Shilen 1:12 28" in a 6mm Rem, 6-18x Burris in Signature Zee rings, SSS trigger. I run 75 VMaxes at 3600 fps. It has proved devastating on the local coyote populations. Many kills out to 400 yds. Never tried a shot further than that and don't live in an area where it is done often.

Luck, Tim

Chuck Hunter,
I had to take a second look at your picture. It gave me cold chills. You look just like my dear departed dad. I had to call my wife in to see it. She said is that your dad? :o

Martin,

They say we all have a twin.........Somewhere.

My buddies sister has a friend, that is the barfly type...I saw a girl at the gunclub that i SWORE was her...It wasn`t.

Literally a two feet away they look IDENTICAL!!!!!

I had a chance for the two of them to meet and they were both FLOORED.....thier friends even had a hard time telling them apart......CRAZY!!!

I'm not sure I would consider it LONG range but it has the potential to reach out and touch 'ole wiley. It's an older Savage action with a McGowen 12 twist 220 Swift. I run 50g Noslers really fast.

The stock has the hand or foot print from my kids on it. This one has tremendous sentimental value now!

I also have a 1:8 twist 22-6mm in the works. It will also sport a McGowen barrel, but with a Vais brake. Plan on shooting 80g Bergers out of it when it's done.

I have 3. All Savage hybrids.

First up, just got this one back together with a SS LW 243 28" bbl. 8 twist. Sitting in a BVSS stock now, but have a benchrest stock I need to paint and bed for it. Vortex Viper 6.5-20x50 scope in Warne tactical rings and 0 moa base. This is my second barrel on this one, first didn't work out. This pic is still with old barrel. This one will be my mid range gun, 300-600 yds.

Second one, Savage BVSS in 22-250 with a McGowen 26" 9 twist barrel. Burris base and rings, Nikon 6-18x40 buckmaster. This one will one-hole Hornady Vmax 50 gr bullets with 40.0 grs of H-380. This one's my 500 yard and under gun, when the wind cooperates.

P1020560.jpg

This one's my 12F in 6.5x284 with a Mcgowen 30" 8 twist barrel. NF 12-42x BR scope NPR1 reticle, Warne tactical rings and a 20 moa Warne base. This one loves Lapua scenars 139 gr over 50.5 grs of H4831sc seated on the lands. Will shoot one hole groups @ 100 yards every time I bring my talent with me (lol). This is my long range gun, from about 500 yards or so, to as far away as I can tell that the target's a prairie dog!

Mr. Hanson, Where did you have the mount done in your bottom photograph? I think it looks great, and would love to have one done next year. Thanks, Jonathan

Rem Model 700 VS Chambered in .243AI with Nikon Monarch 6-24X50 sitting in Burris Extreme Tactical rings mounted to a Larue Tactical 20 MOA rail. It has a Timney trigger set at 2 lbs.The break is ugly but it works great.
