Show Off Your S.O.B. Rifle

This one is not what I would expect to see on this sight but I just gotta show off my deer rifle.
I converted a Remington 40X into a 45 cal smokeless muzzle loader to comply with Illinois muzzle loader and sluggun deer seasons.
I'm shooting sub minute groups at 2700fps with 72gr of IMR 4198. I have loaded it up to 2835fps but groups opened to 1 M.O.A. so I backed it off a little.
The recoil is "noticable" and I don't like the blast that come with using a brake so I took an oversized aluminum brake and turned it down and threaded it to except a shroud that I made out of 7075 aluminum. The shroud keeps the sound moving away from the rifle instead of blasting my ears like a muzzle brake normally does. I made the shroud out of an axle shaft that was salvaged from a sprint car.
The barrel is a 20 tw Krieger, the trigger is a Jewell and the scope is a 4-16x42 SII Sightron HHR mounted in Leupold rings.

Here ya go:

Pierce Action
Competition Machine stock
Jewel Trigger
1-10 Krieger chambered in 6br
Phoenix sights

More guys here, especially anyone looking for a repeater, should pay more attention to Pierce Engineering, they have seriously got their act together over there and its a family business that couldnt be more delightful to deal with.

Was doing well with 88 bergers but have since discovered 90 scenars are much much better in this barrel at 300.

This group obviously was shot off a bench at 100 with a fore end flat adapter on the stock. Dont want any of you guys thinking I can do that offhand ;)

For some reason I am unable to send you a private message. Could you send me your email address. I am very interested in this type of rifle and would liketo ask you more details. Also I am surprised it is a repeater. I have always been told it is extreemly dificult to build anything other than a single shot for a 6br except with a lot of special and time consuming machine work.

30br, Krieger Barrel, Savage Target Action

Lots of very nice rifles, hope to be able to show off my by the end of the month. Shehane called yesterday and told me he sent my stock back to Lenard Baty, now all he has to do is put it in the stock and box it up. Would be a nice X-Mas gift but I will get when I get it.

Sorry pictures are a little dark.
This a tube gun I built this Spring almost entirely from scrap aluminum.
Buttstock is adjustable for L.O.P and position.
Action is a RBLP Long Defiance CC with PTG bolt
Bartlein barrel chambered in 6mmBR.
Harrels brake.
Sightron 8x32 scope
The target was shot with it at a 1000yd IBS match at Byers. The 2 pasties are covering sighter holes.
First 6 shots were in the X ring then I had a fail to fire, as you can see conditions changed while I waited to make sure I didn't have a hangfire.
The fail to fire issue is hopefully resolved.

potatoe, nice. Thats how we do it here in SW PA. off the bipod.
Like the 243AI. smoken..
I found the 65 V-max works a little better(hits harder) in the 6BR and recently have shot a few with a 70 GR SBK out of the 6BR at @ 3,550 FPS around the 560 yard mark that you would have thought you shot them with a 243AI.

Here's a nice rifle I finished a while back. It's a Borden Alpine actioned 22BR repeater with a fluted Krieger barrel with a brake in a West stock. Jim makes a great action and the gun shoots great! Sorry about the poor picture quality.--Mike Ezell

Mike,
Did you do the finish work on the west stock or did you receive it like that? beautiful rifle for sure.
Wayne.

Wayne, I did. It took a while to get the tint just like I wanted it...to bring out the contrasting colors of the maple figuring. It was a tung and linseed oil finish. The stock came shaped and uninletted. Thanks for the kind words!--Mike Ezell

blue eyed bear,

Thanks FJ. This was the first year that BR (my pops rifle) shot the 55 BT's. But he switched back to the 65 V-Max's after a few local ground hog shoots and saw that the accuracy was not too good past 200 yards. That .243 AI is rough though, it can do some real damage to the local hogs. Can't wait till this spring to let that dasher play, 75 v-max's are doing well out of it so we'll see.
