I was stuffing some bullets this evening and realized that a good 90% of this project came from the good members here. @20VarTarg helped get the ball rolling with a complete Super 14 .357 Maximum. After a good showing with the open sights at 40 yards I asked what was a good magnification for a hunting handgun scope. After some discussion @Idaho-Lefty reached out and offered to sell me a clean 2.5X T/C recoil proof with mount. Since I already had a good deer barrel I thought I should round out the package with a small caliber barrel that I can maybe even get the kids on. A day or so after posting a wtb ad, @SEM made me a great offer on a 10" .221 Fireball barrel. The forend pictured is for a longer barrel but @Zebragun has the correct one in the mail for me. The only items that weren't obtained from other members were the hazmat items and the dies. @bozo699 traded me a coffee can full of Lake City brass that got squeezed down to furball dimensions, and @doggone6br provided the 50 grain Sierras (both seem like forever ago). Here's the setup with the 221 barrel, and some .221 loaded rounds shown with the towering .223 in the middle. It might seem like a simple thing, one little pistol; but thanks to all the members on this site who have been a big help through the years.


What have you built out of Accurate Shooter parts? Show off, if you'd like and throw in a little shout out to those that helped. It'd be fun to hear the story.

It's a little loose. If I did keep it on I think I'd have to "bed" it so it doesn't have so much side to side play. Thanks again, hopefully I'll get to shoot it within the next month

Good looking Rig. I'll play here are a couple of mine. The top one is a 20 TAC and the bottom is my favorite all time Contender. A flatside frame, OTT step barreled in 20 Vartarg. They just lay on the rest and make me look like I am a shooter LOL

Here is one more of my Toys. It is a 15 inch BullBerry barrel chambered in 6mm BullBerry Improved. Haven't had it long but I think it is going to be a shooter. Also have the same setup in 6.5mm BullBerry Improved.

Today I had a chance to shoot a couple groups at 75 yards. These were with 28.0 and 28.3 grains of AA1680 with 180 XTPs. There was a little glare as I was shooting towards the sun.

Thank you. I think a little more magnification could tighten it up, but from what I can see this should easily be a 100 yard deer gun with practice.

Yes, more magnification allows for better groups, over a Bench Rest, but you won't have, a rest when still Hunting (slowly, walking the Woods ) for Deer. Go to a Gun shop and hand hold some 4 and 6 Power Pistol scopes to see if you are, "Steady enough" to,.. really use them.
The Rig you have, should get you a Dead Deer out to,.. 100- 115 yards IMO

Vertical stringing of, Bullets, is usually caused by, uneven Forearm pressure on Bag, when shooting rested.
On the Target, You have, 2 bullets next to each other and One,.. a bit higher.
Could be, a little extra forearm Pressure from holding pistol, too tight on rest, maybe ?
