Show and tell 6mmBR coyote gun.

The 87 vmax didn’t shoot great at all. I also tried nosler 95s bt spritzer but the rifle has zero free bore so I had to seat them so far in it crushed powder at 28 grains. I’m open to suggestions if any are out there. It’s 7.5 twist barrel.
The 87 gr. V-Max's, DIDN'T shoot, "consistently", in My 1- 7.5 Twist barrel, either !
I gave them to, My grandson for, Practice, in his New, .243 Win Tikka 1-10 TW, as they Closely Match, the 87 grain H-VLD Bergers that, he uses, on Muleys ( he got a Big, Heavy, 30" Plus Deer, this Year, w/ the Bergers ).
Hence, WHY, I shoot the 95 gr. Classic Berger's ( Accurate, Low recoil and still,.. Deadly ! ).

ME ME ME! I am loving the BR for a coyote bobcat turtle rifle! Its not that pretty by a long shot. But then again beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I have been shooting 70 gr Nosler Varmageddons , but am soon to switch over to Hornady 58 Vmax and IMR 4227. I know, but it shoots in the .3's. Its a slow twist barrel : ( , and I wanna burn it out so I can put an 8 twist on it. It smacks coyotes and bobcats and doesnt ruin the hide. : ). Just finished up the Mike Bryant magazine upgrade, feeds like a champ.
turtles?!!

My smith said pick a bullet and he’ll make the free bore perfect for the bullet. Still having a hard time getting it. Just a dumb construction hand. Lol
The Criterion Reamer is PERFECT at, .104 Freebore and that sets, the bottom of the, Bearing Surface on, the 107 MK's and 108 gr. Berger Elite Hunters, just above, the N/S junction at .010 off Jam,.. in the 6 XC.
I'm "Jumping" the 95 CL. Hunt's around, .050 and they,.. LIKE IT,. there !
Seriously HAPPY with that, Criterion Barrel's, Freebore and the 1-7.5 Barrel twist

I have a spreadsheet that lets me see before hand how bullets are going to seat in a particular barrel. How long, how much is in the neck, how much below the neck, etc. Just change the 'touch' number and a couple of other variables and you can tell barrel to barrel how they will seat, etc. As long as you have the bullet info, the chambering doesn't matter.

You never shot the heads off of turtles with a 22 lr when you were a kid? Its great fun, and with a more substantial round the hits are impressive. Southern PD hunting but with a twist. Turtles line up on a log to sun. They dont mist like PD's though.

no! we had nutrias and muskrats to shoot where I grew up as a kid! atleast they were moving targets!

If I were to take a BR into the field and start sprinkling brass in the brush, weeds and grass I would be in a poor mood when I had to replace it the way supply is now.

Wgood,

.080 free bore was absolutely perfect in my 6BR from 75 V-max up to 105 Berger VLD. 95 Bergers VLD absolutely drive tacs. Shot placement is absolutely critical on coyotes. I always hold behind the shoulder if at all possible, or if within 200yds dead center if facing me. Again, placement is everything. Any bullet shot or hit on the edges will be ugly no matter the bullet type. Shoot straight!

I paired this 6BR with a Swaro Z8i and hunt coyotes, deer and any other small game using Bart’s 68 avengers. Plenty of kills beyond 400 yards, but I very much prefer to call them in.

I’m late to the party, but I’d be very careful with the 95 vld target. They are rock hard and while some REALLY detonate, as many or more fail- even at 243 velocities. The 87 VLDH is a good choice, but I prefer small bullets as I do not want an exit.
