Shout out for honesty…..

Getting to be absent-minded, I left a rather expensive shooting stool at my local range. An honest individual took time and effort to see that it was turned into the club rangemaster. I was able to retrieve it yesterday. Both the kind gentleman and the club got a reward.
This is a shout out to all those of you who have gone a bit out of your way to do a good deed. Thank you very much.

Happens occasionally, though not frequently enough.

In the past year, alone, I've picked up misplaced keys and a couple other items, handed over to the nearby clerk or whomever, in the hope it'd be there when the owner came looking for them.

Just a couple of weeks ago, I'd misplaced a sweater. Came back this week to the shop and asked. They'd kept it in the back room for me.

At the outdoor range, I'm sure there'll be a time in the coming year when something's been left by another ... small bag or article of clothing likely, though it's hard to see a gun or anything large being left behind. Still, I'd like to think most would grab it and head over to the clubhouse facility to ensure it gets back to the rightful owner.

Was meeting my shooting buddy at the range. Another range member came up and asked him if he had lost his wallet. Come to find out, buddy looked at the pass code for the gate and as he stepped out of his truck, dropped his wallet. Next guy thru the gate picked it up and brought it to him.

Then, you do a good deed and never hear anymore??
EARLY one morning, (6:00AM) did the Post Office thing and on the way out, found a wallet/purse on the counter. Took it out to the truck and checked it out. Address for the next town North of me. Bunch of loose change and $100.00 in cash. Kept the loose change, put a few $ bills to cover/replace the amount of the change to make it easier/lighter to mail, packed it up and dropped it in the mail. Never heard SQUAT and wonder to this day, if it ever got into the right hands ?

Then, quite a few years back, was working under the dash of a customers car and an envelope containing $600.00 in cash fell out. Stashed it till the customer came in to pick up his car. Handed it to him and told him where I found it. He asked me "why didn't you keep it and not say anything"? Why? Because it wasn't mine!! Made a friend for life. :D
