Why don't you try adding something to elevate the original conversation? Instead of trying to elevate yourself by impugning me. Also, slydo, by intimating that he's not intelligent enough to understand the gist of my post.

I read twice too.
The part I missed was if the brass chambered after first resizing.

My guess is the O.P is talking the part the case sits on which would push the case up higher into the die not the top of the shellholder the die contacts.

The part the case sits on is not critical. it's the top of the holder that limits the amount of case going into the die. His pic showed a noticable gap between the top of the holder and the bottom of the die. The holder part the case sits on goes up with the ram. The die threads determine how far the case goes in the die. The die can be turned down to touch the holder and even farther.

I did fail to notice the gun is a lever action. They do not have the strength of a bolt. A very hot factory load in a lever could very well be his total problem. It can stress the brass and action beyond repair.

I had to grind .010 off the top of the shell holder on a 300wsm FL Redding die to get any bump. That being said chuck the nickel brass and get you some ADG or Lapua and don't look back

Really, what happens if the case goes up into the die farther ?What happens if you slid a feeler guage underneath the case?
You get more bump correct?
Do you realize what Redding competition shellholders do?

Feeler gages get mangled pretty quickly when placed under the case head during sizing.
