Shoulder push back

Most literature I've read says .003 to .005" for AR rifles. However I do not shoot or load for AR rifles so maybe someone who does can add their input.

I agree with 0.004" bump. Ill do 0.002" on my creedmoor with slower fire or single loading, and 0.004" for reliable feeding for .308 or .223.

Agree with .003-.004.

Be prepared for more case trimming than if you are used to shooting a minimally sized case for a bolt gun.

On a side note, I would also recommend LC 308 brass. It is tough and holds up better to the harsh loading cycle of a 308 AR. I am on my 6th firing with some of my LC/WCC brass with no issues.

I set them back around .002", then try the case in the chamber, paying careful attention to not let the bolt slam home. What I'm looking for is the case to go in easily with the bolt just closing on spring tension. FWIW, that is generally .003", but not over. Never have I had an issue with loaded ammo needing any extra help getting in or out.

I've seen your forum "name" before and think I may have asked about it. I have a Dave Crossno Hepburn in 40-65 so I would notice it. That having been stated, I wouldn't think one in 45-110 would be a lot of fun to shoot.........

The "110" was a scratch build from an action kit that I bought. I shot it primarily as a long range rifle. It weighed 15 1/2 pounds due to a large barrel and a liberal amount of lead in the butt stock. Even at that weight it would make for a sore wrist and fore arm in a 60 shot match. I think it put out about 40lbs of recoil. About 3years ago I discovered short range benchrest and its 6ppc. The "110" took its place in vault. It gets cleaned up once or twice a year and is returned to its station. It is definitely a young man's rifle.

Mine is very comfortable to shoot as it was built to "make weight" and chunk a 400 +/- grain little bullet. I don't take my BPCR's out very often anymore. The Hepburn is a love it or hate it action, but I personally think they are the best looking action. Next for me is the 1885, but I'm biased cause thats what I have.....
