Should I sell this?

In today's market I'm tempted to see how much this will bring;). Yeah might lose some value without original grips:rolleyes:.

My brother in law found this in the Chihuahua desert laying on the ground when he was watching some cattle. There are tales of Pancho Villa in the area back in a day. I call it my Pancho Villa gun. Who knows what kind of history it has. I'll entertain offers:p.

Hey mouse, Just a few more details might help your sale. Make, caliber 5-6 shot? You know the usual stuff guys like to know. Jeff

It looks like an Iver Johnson Security Six. They made lots of them and parts are scarce. Had to fix one once that was missing parts and so loose I'd be afraid to shoot it much. It was a family heirloom and they just wanted it put back together. The grips are replacement. As to it's worth; couldn't say.

That bent top strap and cylinder gap (you could drive a car through it) could make firing it memorable.

On the top barely legible "Smith & Wesson cartridges ??????? that best fit the "Luskard" revolver
About .32 cal, 6 shot, needs rebound spring for trigger, missing extractor and cylinder pawl, has match sights:confused:.

Can't believe I still have this hunk of metal when I'm still crying over a Win 9422 I sold over 20 years ago:(.

I would say that in the condition it is in, with the obvious damage to the top strap/latch, it is now worth much, other than to someone needing some parts off it. Either part it out or hang it on the wall as a conversation piece.

That there just says to me it could've been one of Elmer Keith's early victims. Put it on GunBroker!

Just think of the story/stories you could make up about it! 'Did I ever tell you how Pancho Villa bent the top strap on this revolver? Well, it happened like this. When Lieutenant Patton and General Pershing were hunting Villa...'

Guessing it was one of those revolvers used by a bad guy being chased by a posse. We all know that once they ran out of ammo they hurled them back at their pursuers...after first staring at it in bewilderment that it would let them down by being empty. According to all the westerns, the landscape is littered with them.

Wait for a gun turn in. Regardless of condition, they usually give a hundred bucks or more. Around here, the dealers line up with their junk and cash in.

It is pretty unique among that type in that it has a lanyard ring on the grip. That definitely increases the value. jd

I've got one of the basic types in a Smith.. Even shot a few squirrels with it. If you need any load recipes for it, give me a buzz.

I would never volunteer to let them use me as a statistic in support of their programs to disarm America. They can keep their $100.
