Should I FL size?

I have Google searched this question but can find the answers. 300 PRC ADG brass 1x fired, Whidden FL bushing die with the expander ball removed. There is no different in shoulder length between virgin and 1x fired brass and it chambers fine in my gun. Do I need to FL size? I plan to run an expander mandrel.

Whether or not you see it in accuracy, in order to extend brass life I agree F/L size your brass every time.

The long and short of it…… Yes!

Lots of good advice here - like "rox" says, don't blindly bump the shoulder back.

I believe in full sizing if done properly so that reliable chambering is achieved. While a bump of .001 to .002" is an effective 'rule of thumb" for bolt rifles, especially after cases have been allowed to fully fire form to your rifle's chamber, it not absolute.

Some don't realize that full sizing also sizes the radial dimension of the case which significantly contributes to problem free chambering often with minimal shoulder bump. You just have to make sure that full sizing does not extrude the case thus making it longer in head space. This can be avoided by making sure the die at least contacts the shoulder.

Also, besides using bump gauges and measuring case head space (fired vs. sized), your rifle chamber is another effective "gauge" for assessing the amount of sizing needed to achieve reliable chambering.

Once you've loaded a few cycles of cases for a specific rifle, you'll begin to obtain a feel for the amount of sizing needed for that rifle and that lot of dedicated cases.

The correct answer is always FL size. You may not need to bump your shoulders to chamber the brass but thats not all a FL die does. Dont let your brass think it can get big at the start or it wont go back

Was thinking the exact same thing, I would be paying closer attention to the .200" line, seen a few PRC chambers on the small size. With a custom die it's less likely to show up.

A lot of horror stories with PRC chambers.

No way in hell would I get a barrel chambered in anything PRC. They designed the dies too sloppy at the .200" to size correctly.
Guys are having to use an Alex Wheeler AW2 reamer or hone the chamber out to keep from having hard extraction issues.

Firing twice without sizing above the case head is guaranteeing hard extraction even with low pressure loads.

I have heard this (now that I own the gun and all the reloading equipment for it). Sounds like it shows up after the 3x firing.
