Shotgun question need help please

Ive got a newer model Win. model 1400 in 12ga. It has a 2.75" chamber. Can this barrel be reamed out to use 3". Also will the action handle cycling 3" if it was originally chambered as a 2.75"? Here is a link, though may not be of much help, to the type of shotgun I am referring to.

horse,,,,you have the shotgun in your hands ,,,why not put a cupla 3" shells in the magazine and see if they feed !!!!,,,,,of course they wont go completely in the chamber ,,,,see if they feed,,,,then take and empty one and put it in the chamber and see if the mechanism will extrct and eject it,,,,,naturally the chamber can be lengthened,,but you gota try the mechanics of the action yourself,,,,,all of us out here in cyber space are just guessin,,,Roger

not a bad thought. i do have shotgun loading equipment i could rig up a dummy round and try it. thanks for the suggestion.

I am guessing that a 3 inch shell will not eject. The ejection port is likely sized for 2 3/4 inch shells and the bolt cycle stroke is too.

Dont do it the gasports in the barrel are too large to shoot mags

There may also be an intertidal weight and/or buffer springs that are set up for the recoil of 2-3/4"

If the shotgun was not built to take 3" shells, you'll beat it to death doing so....
