Shot this morning ,

I want everyone to note the fact that Art has been on here asking for advice lately.
It’s refreshing to know that someone with this capability still wants to learn and seek advice.

Some of the best advice I ever heard of was actually about bass fishing but applies very well to shooting.

I was very young and arrogant and I said why would I listen to so and so and my buddy Larry said “just because you know 1,000 things about bass fishing and he only knows 100 doesn’t guarantee that all 100 of those things are covered in your 1,000.”

Never stop learning.

Art are you buying brass if so what kind and where or making it ...
Just like everyone on here Trying to buy the best of everything , Usely Lapua or Norma if I can find it , For my 222 I made my brass from Lapua 223 brass because PT&G made the chamber .050 to long neck , So I made the brass ,o40 longer than spec, because of the carbon ring , BUT I don't know if it was worth it , But not happy with it a 222 should shoot better than I'm getting , same with my 6 BR . It should shoot like my 221FB.

LOL my capability's I'm not happy with , I don't do very good in matches , but I can shoot some good targets . And never stop asking questions.

Outstanding Art. Those groups are incredible both for size and consistency.
We can learn a lot from you.
I have 7 Savage rifles and three are model 12s with 26 inch barrels, but none can duplicate those group sizes. I find that recoil has a lot to do with how accurate I can shoot with them. My .223 shoots the most accurately, but with the 6.5mm CMs and .308s, the recoil moves me around a lot more and it takes more skill to get back to the same exact position to maintain accuracy.
What set up are you using?

Just a old Caldwell front rest modified and a cheap rear bag nothing special . But I think it is all the 221 FB with all most no recoil . In my old age I don't like recoil . Now I'm working on a 222 and a 6BR . I like to show three targets on the same page . You do see I chambered it with no barrel nut , but don't think that was that big of a deal . The barrel was used and the stock is a piece of junk I got at a Gun Show .
