Shortest barrel for a 6.5 Creedmoor +suppressor

I am having a new 6.5 Creedmoor built and wanting to know what the shortest I should go with the barrel. Barrel is 1-8.5 twist. Also I will be running a suppressor. Thanks in advance.

I wouldn't use anything shorter than 22", but if you have to, you'd be better off with a .260 due to its larger capacity and since you intend to use a suppressor, blast and flashball should be of no concern.

short barrel will cut down on FPS you will want to get it to around 850fps to be subsonic. or in that neighborhood anyway so you don't break the sound barrier with the bullet . if you succeed in doing that you will hear the firing pin drop . T.R.

According to Quickload, Case capacity of the 6.5 Creedmoor is identical to the 260 Rem. I do know from my own testing that the capacity of the 6.5 Creedmoor necked down to 6mm is identical to 243 Win Lapua brass.

The cartridge is called a 6mm Creedmoor. I think it is very similar to the 243 SLR. The ctg isn't my desgn, it is literally just the 6.5 Creedmoor necked down to 6mm. I don't have a print but I believe the leade/throat on it is .104" for the Amaxes.
I shot it in 600 and 1000yd Light gun class. The reamer had a .272 neck but the current Hornady brass necked down and loaded with a 105 Amax measures .272 so I used a neck reamer to open it up to .274 so I wouldn't need to turn brass. The Hornady Creedmoor brass has been good enough that it doesn't need to be turned. I was pushing the 105 Amaxes 3170fps out of a 28" tube for best accuracy, using H4350. It did very well most of the time but is too hard on barrels for me. It had severe fire cracking after less than 600 rounds but I continued to shoot it for at least another 800 rounds. The last time I shot it was the 2010 IBS 1000yd Nats and won 1 relay with it, then lost one and switched to my 7mm RSAUM because of the nasty winds. When I get a chance I'll scope the barrel again and see if I can set it back or if it is at tomato stake status.
I plan on shooting a Dasher this year at 600 and when the wind isn't blowing at 1000. If my barrel doesn't show up soon I may end up starting the season with the Creedmoor though.
I know there are a couple more of them out there but haven't heard any feedback form them.

My mistake. I assumed wrongly that the Creed' had the same capacity as the spitting image version that I developed more than a decade ago out of Federal .22-250 cases with about 49-50 grains of water capacity. The case walls must be thinner in some locations and reinforced where they need to be.
