A shortage of available goods drive prices up, yet manufacturers cannot hire in order to scale up because the aoc and bernie crew of socialists pay folks more to stay home vs working. The swamp is working hard to mimic Venezuela; expect higher inflation and taxes.

The "perfect storm" is developing...........the government has created it. All of this will not end well. The economy along with the hostile to common working man politics are going to start something that will cost a lot more than just money in the end. Social unrest at minimum, civil war at worst............the future isn't looking good in the natural world at all.

My son and I are cyclists. He told me just this week he heard from his local shop some parts are a bit scarce (i.e. walk in to buy a chain, shop is out of stock, and says their distributor is behind).

Local Trek store told me, since in some model lines the only real difference between their '20 and '21 models is paint - there's talk of never switching over to the '21 models. The factory is just too busy.

So while cycling component shortages don't seem as severe as primers are for us, the dynamics seem similar: Components going to fulfill demand for complete bikes.....and those wanting parts are finding it tougher to get what they want.

I have a trek I haven’t ridden in many years, I wonder if I can clean it up and get some primer money?

Cargo container ships are being anchored out of ports for days/weeks waiting their turn to unload. This has greatly increased since Jan. Blame has been on truckers, I wonder with the coast state shutdowns, cargo has nowhere to go. Warehouses have to have labor, COVID restrictions by democrat governors.

You are absolutely correct. Between commie governors and dock workers unions they are holding industry hostage. There is slab and coil waiting to get to the steel mills. We have a major shortage on structural tubing and plate right now. Some say the raw steel is there, just can’t get the ports to offload.

I've been pretty much out of circulation since last Sept'. Slowly getting better. Anyway, I got jolted into reality a couple of days ago at Lowe's. I need a utility trailer wiring kit for a new SUV. Went to lowe's to get one. LOL. They are back-ordered until at least June. Tried the glorious Internet. Nothing! Guess I'll just sit at home and watch the western channel. I can watch cowboys shoot 20-30 times without reloading. Now that's a better reality!
