short barrel build

Looking to build a short(20") hunting rifle in 6.5 caliber, just wondering which caliber would be most efficient in a shorter barrel. Barrel will probably be a 8 or 8.5 twist #4. I am thinking 6.5 x 47 , but am looking for imput. Thanks.

6.5x47 would be good but as good would be the 6.5 x 55. Tons of them in 20" barrels & proven moose killers.

I hunt with a 6.5x55 myself and really like it.
For a 20in barrel I would go for a 260 remington.
Short action and you can now get lapua brass for it.

6.5 creedmoor is my choice. I like the sharper shoulder of the creedmoor myself! Lee
