Short action in a LA stock?

What all would be involved in converting a LA stock to accept a short action? Specifically a Rem. 700 ADL stock. I know it's sound crazy but I located a LA stock that I really want at a great price. Has anyone ever done this conversion and would offer advice? Many thanks, John.

All you'll need to do is move the lug mortise and the front action hole back a ways..
Being a ADL you won't need to fool with the BDL cutout.... but you will need to deal with the cut-out on the side or just leave it as it is...
When ever I have needed to do it I just inlet a different piece of wood into the old hold down hole.. Good luck on your project......

Thanks Preacher, so the bolt cut out in relation to the tang would be the same? Also, my barrel has a longer than normal shank so I think this would help fill up the space that I'm going to have in front of the receiver ring. The stock in question is Fiberglass/synthetic and I'm hoping this would be easier to work with. Thanks again. John.
