shooting stool

I tried one and did not like it at all. The base was not stable enough to scoot around on. The wheels were too small for the stool. If the concrete pad is not smooth, it will not easily move around. If there is any 22 rimfire brass in the area, be ready to tip over as soon as you move. I got rid of it and went to a regular drummers stool.

It came with a seat that looked like a motorcycle seat or tractor seat. It was never in the right place when I sent to sit down. I always had to correct it. I sold that seat, kept the framework since is very solid and bought a round seat from the same company. I've been using it for at least 5 years with no issues.

I have the Roc N Soc stool.

I could not imagine using casters on a shooting stool.
However, maybe it's a 'Zen' thing to teach balanced external forces.
When I rowed in college, the coach would have us remove our feet from the shoe-holds, because you would *feel* the motion of the boat when not bolted in and it would clean up your stroke. Guys who put their oars in too early would get pushed back and have an oar in their back, ones who finished the stroke too early would lurch forward and hit the oarsman in front of them.

Sounds to me like he was addicted to "Keystone Cops" movies.
