shooting gloves

I am looking for a pair of shooting gloves for a old man [me] to use shooting 44 and 41 mag. revolvers. Something with padding to soak up recoil. It's getting to the point where I can't shoot these hi power loads for very long. Anybody else have this problem and find a solution? I've looked and there are many brands out there so would like feed back on what works for you.

Thanks,
Don

Look at cycling gloves. Many have the sufficient padding you may be searching for. These came in handy when I raced downhill mountain bike.

Exactly. I use them and they really help. I prefer the ones that only have half fingers so I still have good trigger feel. Use them on my motorcycle to help prevent my hands going to sleep on long rides too.

Also look at arborist gloves / rope handling. I have a pair of these that have a good bit of padding in the palm. Didn't like them until they were thorougly broken in though. Once that happens, they have enough dexterity to shoot a revolver.

May I also suggest, given that you revealed your age factor and the caliber you shoot, elastic wrist straps used in weightlifting as well. They assist with supporting the wrist movement but at the same time, do not isolate the wrist in one position. helps with recoil and wrist fatigue as well. "The downhill racing came with alot of hand-planted crashes".

Guys, I want to thank you for all the ideas and thoughts. I now have a much better idea of what to look for.
