Shooting Glasses Recommendations?

With safety and comfort foremost, I'd look at the Oakley Ballistic M Frame, with suitable lens. They're ballistic impact resistant (ANSI Z87.1), guard 100% against harmful UV rays. Swappable lenses, replaceable nose pieces, and moderately sticky "unobtanium" along the contact points for a snug fit that won't easily shake loose (ie, under sporting activities).
Of all the eye wear I've worn since the late 1980s or so, they're by far the most comfortable I have found. Not inexpensive, but good stuff.

I have a high bridge on my nose -- not good for the Oakleys. These 3Ms work well. Cost is $10.10 on Amazon. Scotch-guard Anti-Fog lens coatings. Get 25 pairs for the price of those $256 Oakleys.

These work well, are comfortable, fog resistant, anti-scratch, and fairly light. Optional TPE gasket around frame. The ear frames can be replaced with a 3M cord so they don't interfere with muffs. I generally prefer clear, but other lens colors, including a light-responsive Indoor/outdoor are offered:

Z87+ impact standard/high velocity testing:
.25 inch, 1.05gram round steel ball @ 150 fps (1.09 joules)
Mil Spec MIL-PRF-32432/MIL-PRF-31013 impact standard/high velocity testing:
.15 inch, .38gram T37 shaped (pointed cylinder) steel projectile @ 650 fps (7.44 joules)
For shooing, one needs to decide what level of impact resistance/ballistic resistance they are comfortable with. Since the OP asked for safety as one of the foremost requirements I would opt for shooting glasses that meet the MIL-PRF-32432/MIL-PRF-31013 safety rating.

I still encounter too many shooters who neglect to wear eye protection. I can't really comprehend why people don't always wear eye and ear protection while shooting. When shooting a rifle, your eyes are just inches from a chamber operating at up to 65,000 psi! I've heard all the excuses...

Just recently I resurrected a pair of Ray-Ban light sensing
shooters glasses used back in my IPSC days. We have a
separate 100 yard range that faces east and the morning
light can suck. Depending on the day I may have to screw
on a 2 or 3 inch sun shield. I prefer not to use them, and
grateful for an overcast day. Well I have had these out on
the bench twice now in recent days doing some tests. These
are true safety glass and no plastic. 40 years old and not a
scratch on the lenses. They do darken quite a bit in direct
sunlight. So far with limited looks down range, I can avoid
the sun shades, and our infamous 11:00 mirage is tolerable
with these glasses. With zero magnification, I had no issues
with impact shifts or needed corrections. I guess what they
say about what is old can be made new again......Not to say
about a case head separation that woke me up......Carry on !!
