Shooting glasses for clays

I have Decot and like them. I'm still using the frames I bought in 1992. I've been through about 5 or 6 sets of lenses as my prescription changed. The last set of lenses I bought from a dealer that let me look through probably 20 different colors to get the ones that suited my eyes best. Colors can make a huge difference. Just my experience.

I've done the same as Mr. Smith above.
Color of lenses play a big role in your ability to see the birds clearly. Colors depend on the background behind the birds. Some colors will make the birds stand out while other colors will make the birds blend which makes them harder to see.
Don't rush into colors, your eyes are unique to other shooters. What works for them may not be the best for you.

I shoot a lot of shot gun, mostly trap. I had decot for years, tried ranger. Both are okay, personally feel decot service has gone away a bit since bud passed away. I know you don't want to spend a fortune but I now have pillas and LOVE THEM!! Yes, their pricy but it's one of those buy once cry once things. If you try a pair on you'll be shocked at the clarity. Check with Clay target vision. They have a spring special going. Ask for dennis.

Have Decot Hy wide's and I also have 2 pair of Rangers . My decot's are close to 20 +years old . I do believe the Decot's are cooler more open they seem to set off the face more .They both have served me well and it's dependent on what color of lens I use on which pair I wear .

Bertoni shooting glasses (Amazon) are pretty decent despite how cheap they are. Pilla are by far the best but $$$

I don’t shoot clays but, try the purple lenses if you shoot orange birds. I have a set that i wear in flat light skiing. I came around a bend and there were orange cones on the edge of the trail and the contrast and brightness was stunning. I actually stopped and marveled. I’ve never had a lens tint make that kind of difference.

I have a pair of these and I like them a lot:
I do mostly rifle bullseye related things, like XTC and Silhouette. I'm sure they're nowhere near as good as Decot or Randolph, but if you don't need a prescription, they're very inexpensive. They breathe well too; important in Houston where it's easy to fog up safety glasses.

You can't Beat Decot's I have been using the same (3) frames for over 30 years. I wouldn't have had to buy lens if I didn't get old and eye sight is changing every couple of years. I bought my first pair from Bud Decot at Remington Gun Club in Lordship Conn. They closed it in 1987.

I will second Decot's !! I have been using for over 40 years. I have 3 frames and 10 sets of script lens. I am still using the first set of frames I bought over 40 years ago. I send them down for a tune up every 5 or 6 years. They still rebuild them for less than $20.00. You just can't beat service like that.
