If you can keep it within the 8 ring or better at 600 for 80% of your shots , then why not test out 1000I've had the chance to shoot several mid range 600 yard matches in the F-T/R division. I'm enjoying it, but the thought of shooting a 1000 yard match crept into my head. I just don't know that I am ready. How do you know when you are ready to shoot from the long line?
Unless you live in a windy place like I do and are not shooting a 223, you'll be fine. If you know your velocity, plug it into a calculator. Then make sure your scope has enough elevation. Then bring extra ammo for sighters, it may take a couple extra to get on paper. Like 5 or 6 more. You guys talked me into it. I'm going to the next one.
