shooting f-class and score bench

I shoot mostly f-class by choice but some local score bench with my f-open equipment just because it's there.

Trying to carry over position seems to be a lost cause. My prone position has evolved to be behind the rifle and in-line with it. In comparison my bench position feels entirely to the side of the rifle.

Is the very different feel the right feel or should I try harder for a similar position?
