Scope Position in Rings - Bench vs F-Class

So I'm curious, if when mounting a scope for F-Class vs Shooting off of a Bench. Is the scope mounted in the same position in the rings? Generally, when mounting for F-Class is the scope set Back or Forward a little in the rings to account for shooting in the prone position. I set up the scope with the rifle on a bench myself siting behind the rifle. It seems when I'm in the prone position shooting I'm fighting a little to get behind the scope and get a good picture thru the scope. (It may be just that I'm getting old and having a little tougher time getting positioned behind the rifle?)

Thanks for sharing your F-Class Shooting / Scope wisdom.

For my f class rifle I set up the scope in the prone position. If it isn't the same for bench I don't worry about it because I don't shoot it from a bench often.

I Shoot / Load test off of a Bench. although I would prefer (if there is a Change) the scope to be set for shooting the Prone Position.

I may have to try setting the eye relief up in the prone position vs setting up off of a Bench. Setting it up off of a Bench was easier as I could set up the eye relief and insure the vertical x-hair was vertical when sighting a vertical post set at 200 yards. Doing it in the prone position is going to be a chore for this old fart.

Last time out @ 600 yds I shot a 199-8x, 200-12x, 197-11x. Shooting well but seem to be fighting the Scope.
It may just be my in-experience at shooting f-Class??

Thanks

For some, eye relief may be essentially the same between bench and prone. For others it will not be, so set up your eye relief in the position you will be shooting. If you have been struggling to obtain a clear sight picture when shooting prone after setting the eye relief sitting at the bench, you may fall into the second category. It is really undesirable to be fighting to obtain a good sight picture when trying to focus on shooting well in a match.
