Shooting Eye Focus Issues

What’s hard is it took 5 posts before anyone mentioned seeing a doctor. That’s hard to believe.
There’s nothing wrong with asking on this or any site for views on a medical condition.
I would hope that this was while waiting for results from your eye professional .
Personally I feel it’s far more harmful than posting political opinions.
yeah, that's why i felt compelled to add 2cents.

As mentioned, your first step must be with an eye professional to rule out refractive error and pathology. After that, there are numerous ways to correct refractive errors, for distance and near. As an aside, I find that some shooters do not focus the scope's eyepiece correctly. (retired OD).
And you did and rightly so.
And your concluding sentence is 100% correct.
I’ve found a surprising number of shooters are unaware of proper focus procedures. I’m not talking about these guys going on about ‘tuner’s or some authors books. I’m talking about the average guy I run into at a range. Just an average person.
Focus your reticle looking at the kitchen ceiling or light colored wall. Just bring the rifle up at take a look, quickly, Don’t start a staring contest as your eye will try to adjust. Younger the eyes the better they’ll try. Older eyes, well they’re older. Make an adjustment if needed. Do it until a look through the scope produces a clear crisp reticle. That’s it. Unless something happens to your vision you should not have to touch it again. Naturally a scope focused in 1985 may not be in focus today. Not because it sat in a safe. Because your eyes got older. Notice the word ‘May’.
Parallax is another story and it’s unfortunate that maker mark the wheel with numbers. They are meaningless and just confuse it’s purpose.
I think I got it right doc, but feel free to correct or add to the above.
Oh yeah, there’s lot’s more folks with focus problems than wondering about tuners so no apology for running on.

I believe you're right on target. One addition. The eyepiece should be turned 'out' when you start, to the point that the reticle does blur. Then, turn it in, in increments, each time moving your eye away from the scope then back in briefly, noting when the reticle is clear when you first look in. That's the endpoint. Hope that is clear!
