I live in new york state, how unfortunate !
This day I went to my best friends house and finally got to shoot a 35wsm rifle built by Sid Goodling on a model 70 winchester action in a mcmillan htg stock, with a kreiger stainless barrel with a tuned winchester trigger that breaks at 2.5#'s. He topped it with a leupold 4.5x14x40 scope.I thought he spent to much on this build,I was wrong.Sid put a muzzle break on of his own design. Now I have to shoot it,I dont like heavy recoil.I shot the first round with barnes 225 grain triple shock bullets over a stiff charge of reloader 15. It went off and it shot much like a .270 shooting 110 grain bullets.I was totally shocked that the recoil was nothing.I mean with 4700 foot pounds of muzzle energy,I expected it to shoot like a ,458 win mag.Well it didnt, that break worked perfect and I realized I had to shoot more,2 more down range with a .700 group.I have never fired or seen the gun and it shot that good.He has shot a .600 group with it at 200 yds.I cant believe this gun with the attention to detail and it is the smoothest winchester action I have ever handled.I just had to give Sid a shot out for such a fine hunting rifle.I know his work is good but its even better. When I get to build one for myself,he has my business.
