Shooters World Powders

Has anyone did any testing with the shooters world Precision powders in a 6 br and improved cases.
Hey Jarhead, shot a bit of it in a Dasher (and a 308 and trying some in 223 AI and straight 223) and results are promising...bought some as an alternative to Varget because of its availability and price point, but don't have any real data yet that you are looking for im sure. I do think it's worth a try though... I hope to know more soon. Semper Fi, Kevin

Hey Stan,

Not in any of the 6BR variants, but I've played with it in 308 and 223; shot two matches with it as well. It shoots real well for me; on par with Varget in terms of velocities and SD. It also burns cleaner than Varget in my opinion. Accuracy has been quite good.

I ordered another 16lbs of it today because I like it so much.

The only gripe I have is that it's about the worst metering extruded powder I've ever messed with. Completely unusable out of an V2 auto throw, and jams up my RCBS uniflow about ~80% of the time. I'm waiting on Adam to ship the V3 and holding out hope it'll work well in that.

Thanks,
Mike

I was able to achieve better accuracy and lower es with SW Precision over Varget. My only concern is the temp sensitivity since I have not tested that yet.
It also seems to burn a bit slower in my 6brx which allowed for better case fill and higher velocity.
At 33.8-34.2 I am getting groups in the 1’s and even a few 0’s. Velocity is at 3030 with single digit es’s. I’ll attach my first load work up.CA7577E9-50A7-4781-B8DC-19E78E6907B0.jpeg
I’ve only confirmed the load to 300 at this point but it’s holding at .75 at 300 for 5 shots on calm days.

I have used it in a 308 with excellent results. ES/SD is right there with Varget and I get about the same velocity as Varget. As far as accuracy it’s close to Varget but not as good in my testing, about little over 1” bigger 5 shot groups at 1000 yards but given this is a palma load it still works for me. I will say I was getting more pressure than Varget but this was tested in the middle of summer on the gulf coast, can’t speak of temp sensitivity. I’ve been tempted to tested in the BRX but haven’t needed to yet.

I'm interested in the SW Precision in .308 for 1000 yard f class using 200-208 grain bullets. What bullet was your testing?

155.5 Berger Fullbore at 3020fps with 46 grains in Lapua srp brass with an ambient temp in the 90s. No pressure signs but the same load in LC brass was over pressure so it had to be close. I’d tread carefully with the heavies. I’m sure your chamber and bore is much different than mine though

I was curious as to where it's made (because if China, then count me out, WAY out). Happily, it's made in the Czech Republic. Pardubice-Semtin to be precise.

And apparently marketed in Europe under the 'LoveX' brand. (I seem to recall a late-night TV program with that name in my college years when we got free cable for a while, but perhaps not the same subject matter...)

Go for it.
I have tried Precision, Long rifle, and AR plus.
Precision is my go to for 308.
Ar plus is my go to for light bullets in the 6 br. Higher velocity and better accuracy.

just got my 8lb of SW Precision in today. i may load some tonight for the dasher. the above results look promising.

my stock of Varget, 4166 and this SW Precision might last me through the next 4 to 12 unsure years.

I've made several attempts to get it to run in my 22BR. It just doesn't work well.

I can find excellent nodes between 2950 and 3000fps with Varget. I pressure out at 2900fps and get wild chrono readings with SW Precision.

At first I tried to get a 2990fps speed to match my Varget load. Heavy bolt lift forced me to give up long before reaching that velocity. Then I figured I would settle for something much slower, but couldn't find a decent node on a couple different attempts. I gave up. Its 223 powder now.
