Shipping wood rifle stocks from OCONUS to CONUS

I live in the USA and I would like to buy a used Anschutz rifle stock from someone in Australia. I think Anschutz uses walnut for their stocks.

From what I have read, there are restrictions on importing “unmanufactured” lumber and logs but don’t see anything that may pertain to a finished rifle stock.


Does anyone here have experience with buying a stock from overseas?

Did you have any drama getting it shipped through customs?

I dont think it would be an issue but i gotta wonder why not buy one from the usa and not worry? All you gotta do is put up a wtb ad on here and youll find one and after shipping i bet way cheaper

Unmanufactured wood needs to be heat treated to make sure non native bugs and fungus are killed

Maybe contact a stock maker from Australia and ask if they have experience with shipping to the USA ?

I have imported several walnut stock blanks from Australia over the years. I buy from Roger Vardy www.rogervardystockwood.com Remember the exchange rate for money is much in our favor. Today our $100 will be $137.30 Oz money. Shipping to me was $45 for 2 stock blanks. I don't know if Roger treated them for bugs or not.
