Wouldn't be so bad if it actually arrived when it was supposed to.They also have a minimum weight for box dimensions. Say your box is 36x8x8 and weighs 5 pounds. They have a minimum charge of say 27 pounds for that size box.
Shipping is getting to be pain in the ass
Seeing Alex is indeed a pleasure…When my Cerus stock needed to go to Alex Sitman, I save all the shipping costs by driving there & handing everything to him in person! And driving out a second time when it was finished!
Not sure how much I "saved" BUT, It was a real pleasure to meet Alex in person!
Why not have it go from Alex to Brett? Or did I miss a step?I can't wait until I have to ship my CERUS stock to Alex Sitman and back, and then to Bc'z and back...
I've been telling them about pirateship.com for a while and I'm not sure anyone listens LOLCheck Pirateship huge discounts through ups and usps Shipped a stock for 13 bucks
It’s called dimensional weight. Two factors are critical in shipping. Weight and volume. Size takes up space (go figure) in the plane, truck, whatever. An extreme example would be shipping 10 pounds of styrofoam packing peanuts which would take up tremendous space for the relatively low weight. They also have a minimum weight for box dimensions. Creating a UPS account for the win… I have had one for 10 years and it doesn’t get any easier. There are ways to make it hurt less. A common sized box I use for shipping stocks is a 40"x6"x6". This size does not incure additional handling charges from UPS and with judicious amount of bubble wrap and/or ethafoam can fit any F/class stock on the market with plenty of room for padding. I work in online retail and ship tens of thousands of dollars worth of UPS labels weekly, of fragile goods. Pirate Ship or creating a UPS account attached to a CC is a good way to get reduced cost over retail counter pricing.
Best method is to use as small of a box as feasible, allowing 1" padding on all sides and it should fit very snug into said box with no movement whatsoever. You do not want your stock to become a loose cannon inside the box.
