I ship long guns via USPS, never an issue even during the busy Xmas season. Pistols go FFL to FFL
That's what I did when I was still in Business.I’m an FFL and I don’t charge anyone that i shoot with to send or receive guns (sending must be to another FFL). So find someone you shoot with at the range and ask them. You would be surprised how nice people are.
You can ship long guns to a dealer as long as the dealer will accept from a non-licensee. Many dealers will only accept from another FFL. Handguns must go overnight UPS or Fed-EX but can be shipped Priority mail FFL to FFL. The post office never pays off on insurance. UPS requires that you have an account for shipping long guns. For firearms that have a value of over $1000 UPS requires that you have the shipment verified by having the UPS store sign a separate form which must accompany the shipment. UPS now has a third party agency covering insurance claims. They don't pay off either and the insurance charge is ridiculous. What options are left to ship a firearm legally ?
You looked at the weather lately? From my experience with FedEx over the last 5 days, if you use them you’re absolutely crazy! You can’t get a human to answer question, and their virtual assistant is an absolute f—king joke. I have a beautiful shotgun that’s been in Ft.Worth and the idiots won’t update tracking! The shipper is less than interested in going to FedEx and demanding some answers! I am about ready to drive to Ft. Worth!
