Shilen triggers

This question might be better for high power readers rather than the bench rest guys but here goes. One of my bolt guns has a Basix trigger which I am not fond of. I am thinking of buying a Shilen trigger - the basic one - that goes from 1.5 pounds to 3 pounds in adjustment. They have their match triggers but their trigger pull is too light for what I do. Is the Shilen I described the good way to go or is there a better place to look in the same price range?
Thanks, John

I have a Shilen and I'm not to impressed with it. Its been sent back once to get the creep out, they replaced some internals, got it back last week after almost 5 weeks and it still had a tick in it. Going to send it back again. Its set at 1.5lb on a hunting rifle, breaks nice though if the creep could just get fixed. And there customer service was pretty helpful.

I have 4 of them and 8 Jewells. On a hunting trigger the Jewells have creep and the Shilens don"t. Why didn't you adjust it as you have the weapon? I found out the other day"I'm slow" that putting a trigger into another receiver made the trigger pull heavier. It ain't always in the trigger.

Well, it's kind of odd - or maybe I am odd (I'll ask the wife) On some days I have to take up slack and then I can squeeze off the shot. The very next time that slack goes away and there is no take up. One of the "problems" I have is that some of my good friends are hard core bench rest guys and others are hard core high power guys with diffeerent points of view regarding what a trigger should be. I mostly want something in a bolt gun for prone shooting that is consistant and safe with maybe with a 2 pound trigger pull.
