Shilen Match Barrel accuracy

Just installed my recently ordered 6BR 1x8 twist 30" Shilen select-match large shank barrel on my dual port Savage BR action. Head spaced, torques, and ready to go.
What kind of accuracy can I expect at 200yds.
Based on the rifle/barrel combo - not the pilot ::)
Have some 107MSK & 105 H-AMAX bullets to play with. RL15-Varget-H4895, Lapua cases, and a selection of primers.
Thoughts!

rinoray...1/4 moa or better @ 200yds is reasonable provided you use a solid rest/bag combo w/ the rifle "balanced" in the rest & tracking is good, high power scope(adjusted properly,i.e. parallax, etc),good trigger control, good conditions,AND WIND FLAGS.
Long barreled rifles can be difficult to get "balanced" because of being SO muzzle heavy. Good luck...good shooting...gpoldblue

Sounds like you should talk to a fortune teller.

Based on hardware only. I'm not the best shot, so only looking for general accuracy probabilities/possibilities. As far a smoking - been years and I did not inhale, only 2nd hand. ;)

in the hands of a good benchrest shooter if the gun and your loads are right 1/2" groups and under are the norm. If you don't have benchrest experience and you can't read the wind flags and you just like to shoot . When you get them into a 3/4 " group your doing ok . The Rifler

Got some basic loads built for it:
Hornady 105 AMAX
28.5gr H4895
Lapua brass
CCI SRBR primer
.010" off lands
not bench rest worthy - ok for my talent level

try some real bullets and put the hornady bullets away! LOL!!! Seriously i have never gotten my best performance from a hornady 105gr bullet, ever. I like the sierra 107's berger 105,108's and of course my favorite 6br bullet, the BIB 108BT. Good shooting and good luck my friend! Lee

That group is good. now what i would do next time to the range try different torque on the stock screws front and back .Tighter at first if that opens the group up back them off till the group gets better .Be sure to use that same load. If your happy with that let it alone . T.R.

Hornady AMAX were cheap and I got two boxes from a range buddy for $30, so I couldn't resist (my cheap bast**d side) LOL.
Can't seem to find Berger 105-108 anywhere, so 107SMK are available locally. I'll try some of those next round.
As far as the stock screw torque, I seem to remember reading somewhere that you start off at snug, tap the stock on the floor to settle the lug, torque the front two to 30in/lb & only snug the rear, then front two 45in/lb and rear 10-15in/lb.

Does the process go something like that?

Criminy, I'd be happy with that group at 100 yards!

Now tell us you shot that in a 10-20 mph switchy wind and when you show up with that gun at a match, we'll all just hand you the trophy and go home ;D

The single billfold group pictures do nothing for me. Post a picture with 5 groups on it. If it were like the one you posted, I would be the first one to pat you on the back.

Have a match next weekend. Will try the 105 Berger or 107 SMK, seems like H4895 is grouping the best with CCI SRBR primers. 600yds should be a decent test in some July temps & switchy winds. Hope the summer thunderstorms stay away.
As far as impressing with the group, not looking for a pat on the back, it wasn't the purpose of the question, there are many better shooters than I, & I'll be the 1st to acknowledge it!
Was looking for bullet/powder/primer improvement ideas for this setup.

Up in Lodi I shot a 150-12x at 800 with pointed 107 Sierras with 30.5 RL-15 and CCI-450s in Lapua brass. Might want to give that a try since we have the exact same barrel...

I have all those components. I will get setup for next weekend with that load. You gonna loan me your bullet pointer ;D?
Seriously thinking about one, however, would like to see if it made a difference.
