Ok if i go with one of the cheap shilen chrome molly barrels it will be strictly for hunting prairie dogs and for fast and care free shooting. The price is the reason why i am considering this barrel blank. For 130 bucks i will not worry to much about getting it hot. dont get me wrong i always take care of my equipment, but from what i understand prairie dog towns seem to get a guy pretty excited. Now for the question! What will i need to do to protect the chamber on one of these blanks? I will just shoot the outside with Brownells allumahyde, so that isn't going to be a problem. The inside of the chamber is where i am concerned. A good friend of mine suggested that i just cold blue it. Some sort of dipping bluing? Will the bluing inside a chamber hold up and will it protect the metal like it needs to be? AAny ideas?? Thanks guys, Lee
