She died with her scales on, sniff !!

Well I let someone borrow my old Hornady powder scale, somehow it ended up in a driveway and a truck ran over it!!!!!! Don't even ask, I didn't!

There was a article on scales here and I read it! It identified a scale called a 5 something 10, I think it was made by Redding, not sure!
Is the article still valid, is it a "Great" scale, are there options? I do not want an electronic scale, flat out!!
Changeling, sniff!!

I believe the one you have reference to is the RCBS 10-10. I have had one forever and is a good beam scale. With all the electronic ones available, I would look at them real hard.
Newest RCBS 'CHARGE-MASTER' is suppose to be one of the best, if not the best at approx. $ 275.00

I agree RCBS/OHAUS model 1010. You can't get any better than that in a balance beam for the money.

If you want to save a few more bucks, you can find them on E-BAY most all the time.

Thanks guys. I went back to the article and it identified the scale as a 5 10 RCBS, is that the same as a 10 10 or, what gives?
Let me know please, I need the scale. Thanks.
Changeling

RCBS may have made a 510 scale. Current production models are the 502, 505, and 1010. All three models are beam balance units with a resolution of 0.1 grains.

Just curious, is there a reason why you don't want to use an electronic scale? There are units available that read to .02 or .05 grains, and the price range for these units is in the $140-$280 range. Settle time on these is about 2 seconds, which is faster than that of a beam balance unit. Trickling with one of these electronic units is also much easier.
