sharps 25-45

I understand. The 90gr shoot great for me. Hopefully this winter I'll be able to report on effects with coyotes.
I think they'd do fine for deer as well if that's something you're thinking. I would just avoid heavy bone.

Sharps does have their barrels on sale right now, FYI.

I've had mine for a year now. Love it. My load is 100 speer hollow point @ 2500fps. Shoots 18"into ballistics gel and retains 67.8% bullet weight. Rifle shot 4 deer this fall. 3 dropped without moving and 4th went 70yds and that was a pourlly placed shot. As far as I'm concerned this is a super little round.

I bought the dies and brass, but I haven't ordered the barrel yet. Comparing it to the 6x45 that I just finished building, I can't justify it right now.

I have been load testing my 243 build and a factory 223, both bolt guns so this project has been put on hold for now. Thanks for all the insight and suggestions. E

I have a 25/45 and the factory loaded Federal case ammo can not withstand 60K psi, after the first firing the primer pockets were gone. Plus the 87gr bullets did not reach there goal of 3000 fps, more like 2850 fps. So I now use Lake City brass and Speer 75gr TNT's and achieve about 2900 fps.
