Sharpening Reamer? Best place to send to?

Why would you want to send a PT&G reamer to JGS?

That seems silly to me. PT&G seems like the obvious choice. Its like taking a Nissan to a Ford or Toyota dealership. I can't see a good outcome.

Joe

PT&G seems like the logical choice until you try to do business with them. Good luck, your gonna need it.

Far from being a "Expert" on this subject of ; "Who to send" , but Dave Manson worked with me , and my Smith to develop a custom reamer converting CIP standards to a competition useable reamer . It had to be sent back for "adjustments" on FB length , and Dave did his usual superior work . New reamer ? re-grind , or even lap-stone ? Dave Manson , all the way .

Used to have a sign in my shop that read : You can get it fast , or you can get it correct . PICK ONE !

Or,
Good, Fast, Cheap. Pick any two.

And everybody else is PERFECT??
I wouldn't own a Ford but I might drive one for a while, if it was a 34 Sedan.:)
And I don't like mushy squash either.:(
Could be that the guy that used the reamer wasn't as good as he made out to be?
There is one reamer maker that constantly gets gets ALOT more complaints than the other makers...

I called Manson. They initially spec. it, to see if it it still in spec. Then resharpen the way they see appropriate. Then spec it again after it is done. I had heard years ago he was great at re-sharpening. $40. and a short turn around even though they have a 3-4 mo wait on new reamer orders

Good plan Sam.

Everyone can have a bad day I guess. I ordered a reamer for a fairly common BR caliber from one of the prominent makers lited here, not Pacific. Some specific dimensions, so it was classeda custom. First iteration was to a "standard" size. 0.005" off. Set it back and needing to move on had the 2nd iterationto smith. Just happened to measure fired cases and neck is tapered 0.005. Barrel is chambered so damage is done. Maybe we can get this straightened out. I think this rifle iscursed.
