Shadetree top disassemble help

I’m trying to remove the joystick from my shadetree so I can change the orientation of the groove in the post. Can anyone explain how it’s done? I can’t seem to figure out how it comes apart and I don’t want to damage anything. If it was a weekday I’d give butch a call.

@butchlambert will be around soon. The one i have has a button head screw in the handle where it goes thru the bearing in the front. You remove that screw and the handle just slides out toward the shooter

It is a very tight fit.

ok. I’ll take a look at it again. It wasn’t budging and I didn’t want to start hammering on it.

Just an update. I emailed Butch and he said the same thing... it should just pop right out. I tried like hell but it wasn’t coming out with the amount of force I was willing to apply so I sent it to Butch. Not only did he get it disassembled, he also replaced the post with a shorter one (what they currently come with... the one on it was a bit long for the bald eagle bottom) and got it realigned just right. Had it back to me in a week from the time I shipped it to him

Apparently the previous owner loctited it in.

I just added the extension and now I’m really digging this rest.
